Student Nurses’ Association Program

The Student Nurses’ Association allows students who are in the School of Nursing to participate in numerous on campus and off campus activities throughout our community. Students meet once a month to discuss upcoming events, and agenda within the school of nursing.

SNA typically has one fundraiser and community event each semester. Funds raised through fundraising allow students to attend conferences and participate in community related events. Each semester SNA welcomes students into the School of Nursing with their traditional “Muffins with McSwain” breakfast. SNA also holds a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and annual BBQ. Helping Our Students Balance Health And Academic Goals During This Time

    Dear Walden Student,

As we all know, this past year has been challenging, and I want to recognize that your resilience throughout the pandemic has been very impressive. I also want to make sure you know that we will continue to support you in achieving your educational goals as things evolve.

    For students using Blackboard:

We continue to offer some flexibility for any disruption you may be facing, by providing leniency in coursework submission deadlines, with the approval of your faculty. These requests have become far less common, so I want to remind students to work with faculty in advance of assignment deadlines to create agreed-upon timetables for completing coursework. These revised timetables should be agreed in writing, through email.

    For Tempo students:

The approach already provides a great deal of flexibility, although we understand this may not be enough in some cases. If you find you need to explore options regarding flexibility, please contact your Academic Coach or discuss these concerns in your next regularly scheduled appointment. Revised expectations should be agreed in writing, through email. You can find your Academic Coachs email address at the top of your Tempo portal page.

As always, please stay safe and healthy.

    Sincerely,Provost and Chief Academic Officer
