University Of Texas At Arlington Adds Five Graduate Nursing Degrees To Online Catalog

The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation recently added five new nursing graduate degrees to its online catalog for the spring semester. The new online programs include a doctor of nursing practice degree and four nurse practitioner masters degrees in pediatric primary care, pediatric acute care, adult gerontology acute care, and adult gerontology primary care.
After drastically increased enrollment from UTAs master of science in nursing education and nursing administration courses were offered in an online format, the university decided to further expand its online nursing degrees. The additional online degrees will provide advanced nursing education access to students who are unable to attend on-campus courses.
The new online DNP program provides advanced practice registered nurses with the information, knowledge, and skills to transform healthcare from the local to global level. With an online learning system that doesnt require specific class times, the programs goal is to provide the rigorous standards of a DNP program in a flexible and affordable way for professional working nurses.

Dr. Skrivanek transferred to UT Arlington in 2016 as an assistant clinical professor and assumed the role of director of Pediatric Primary Care, Pediatric Acute Care, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Programs. She returned to school for a Post Masters Certificate in PMHNP at Midwestern State in 2019. During her time at UTA, she has been employed in outpatient community pediatrics at a private clinic and will be starting at a private outpatient psychiatric practice in fall of 2020.

Once you complete your education program, you will have to pass the PMHNP certifying exam, issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center . According to the ANCC, upon successful completion of the exam, you will be Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified . Unconditional Admission

Probationary Admission
Criteria for probationary admission status are designated in the PhD Program Requirements table below. When on probation, a student must maintain a 3.0 GPA in the first two semesters of enrollment in the graduate program.
Provisional Admission
Applicants who are unable to supply all required documentation prior to the admission deadline but who otherwise appear to meet admission requirements may be admitted provisionally.
Deferred Status
Deferred decision is granted when a file is incomplete or when a denied decision is not appropriate.
Denial of Admission
An applicant will be denied admission if he/she has less than satisfactory performance on a majority of admission criteria listed in the table below. The PhD Admissions Committee will make a recommendation for denial.

What To Expect From The University Of Texas Arlington Online Nurse Practitioner Programs
Admission Requirements: Applicants for the MSN program must hold a BSN from a CCNE- or ACEN-accredited nursing program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Prerequisites include a basic statistics course with a grade of C or higher. Applicants with a 2.8 to 2.99 GPA may be admitted on a probationary basis and must submit GRE scores, meeting the minimum requirements.
Prospective certificate students must hold an MSN from a CCNE- or NLNAC-accredited program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants to the online RN to MSN program must hold an RN license and have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher in all courses completed.
No GRE is required for regular admission to these programs. Applicants to all pathways must hold an unencumbered RN license in an approved state of study. The PNP-AC and AGACNP specializations require at least two years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting within the past five years.
The streamlined application process includes submission of an online application, official transcripts, and proof of RN licensure. Proof of English language proficiency may be required if applicable.
The Accelerated RN to MSN FNP program takes about 42 months to complete. Students in this program first earn their BSN and then move into the MSN requirements. There are up to 10 start dates per year. The RN to MSN FNP program includes an online orientation where students meet advisors and learn more about the program.
