CETAs engineering program is nationally renowned for preparing exceptional engineers, architects, and STEM professionals. Thats largely because CETA students are able to build relationships with industry partners while completing their degrees. Many work with United Technologies Research Center engineers in UHarts turbomachinery lab intern with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technologies or with the 250+ high-tech engineering, manufacturing, acoustics, and aerospace companies through the Connecticut Technology Council . Assistant Professor of Neuroscience Sally Bernardina Seraphin, who joined the Trinity faculty in 2020 and was appointed to a tenure-track position in 2021, wants to inspire her students. Im really excited to be part of undergraduate students light bulb moments, she said. Theres nothing like seeing an individual finally have all of their studies culminate in a revelation about the universe.
University High School Of Science And Engineering

This public magnet high school, formerly located on the university’s Albany Avenue campus, is now located on the east side of the campus. The University High School was established in 2004 as a partnership of the Hartford Public Schools, the University of Hartford, and the Capitol Region Education Council. It is based on the early college initiative mode: University High School students are able to earn college credits while they attend high school. The high school enrolls two hundred students, seventy percent of whom are from Hartford. The other thirty percent come from towns in central Connecticut. Students are selected through a lottery from a pool of applicants, as required by the state of Connecticut.

College Of Engineering Technology And Architecture
- 4+1 Program : The program is designed to allow full-time engineering students to earn their BS and MEng degrees in five years. Students usually commit to the program at the start of the second semester of their junior year. The following undergraduate engineering programs qualify:

- BS in Architectural Design + Technology and Master of Architecture: Students can earn both degrees within five years of study. This is available through Track 1 of the Master of Architecture program.

In 1957, three schools merged to become the University of Hartford . The school has grown from a commuter college to a large residential university serving the Hartford community. The University of Hartford enrolls over 7000 students each semester, and offers over 80 undergraduate and over 30 graduate majors.
Nursing Programs
Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing
This program is for the RN who wishes to earn their BSN degree and further their nursing education. The BSN program does not accept freshmen. This part time program is designed to meet the needs of working students. Classes are offered once a week in late afternoon or evening. Students are also encouraged to take equivalent courses at community colleges when convenient. However, they will need to take their final 30 credits at University of Hartford.
Students with an associate degree or diploma in nursing may transfer into the University of Hartford. They will be granted 60 credits or more toward their BSN program. This program generally takes students two to three years to complete.
To be eligible to apply, students must have a current RN license and have earned a C grade or higher in all previous nursing classes.

What Do I Have To Do To Get Into The Major Once I Am Accepted At The University
- In the fall semester of the sophomore year, each student completes a formal application to the department of Nursing. This must include a current transcript and you must pass a criminal background check.
- Prior to the first Nursing course, you are expected to be certified in CPR and have all immunizations necessary per the Schools health policy.
- At the time of application to the major, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, in addition to B- or better in all science classes. Please see our Undergraduate Student Catalog for more specific information.
- You must maintain a 2.67 GPA during the first course and thereafter to progress in the major.

Beatrice Fox Auerbach Hall
Auerbach Hall is named after businesswoman Beatrice Fox Auerbach. It is one of the largest academic buildings on campus and is home to the Barney School of Business. During the 201819 academic year, Auerbach Hall underwent a major renovation which included a 10,000-square-foot addition for the Barney School including additional classrooms and a trading room.

How Do I Become A Nurse
Students interested in becoming a nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing must complete a four-year college Nursing program. At USJ, Nursing students complete a rigorous eight-semester degree program, which includes classroom instruction and experiential learning in clinical rotations. The Hartford Hawks participate in the NCAADivision I level as a member of the America East Conference men’s golf competes in the Big Sky Men’s Golf Conference, women’s golf in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference .
