Identify The Level Of Nursing Education Youll Need

As you inch closer toward determining the type of nurse youd like to become, youll want to start looking into the specifics surrounding the educational commitment that will be expected of you. If youre looking to become an LPN, for example, you can earn your diploma in as few as 12 months.*
If youre more partial to the job responsibilities and opportunities that could await you as an RN, you can earn your ADN in as few as 18 months, while the traditional BSN route is more likely to take as few as 33 months.* If youve already obtained a bachelors degree in a different field and youd like to pursue a BSN as your second degree, you can complete a program in closer to 18 months.*
There is also an option for practicing RNs who are not yet baccalaureate-qualified to earn a BSN in as few as 18 months with online RN to BSN programs.* And finally, if youre hoping to take your career even further with an MSN, youll need to first earn your BSN and then complete at least another 18 months of schooling to become Masters-qualified.*

Have A Clean Criminal Record
Look, I wish I didnt have to write this, but do not, under any circumstance, expect to become a nurse if your criminal record isnt crystal clear.
Most schools will list this into their requisites, but even if they dont, know that you cannot become a nurse if you have been convicted, pled guilty or no contest to, or received a suspended imposition of sentence for a felony or other criminal offence .
Schools WILL run federal and supplemental background checks to make sure you have a clean criminal record.
Dont do drugs. Universities will test you for drugs and if they see you are a drug user you can say goodbye to nursing school.

What Makes It Easier To Get Into A Nursing School Compared To Another
Generally speaking, the lower the prerequisites, the easier it is to get into a nursing s chool. However there is also another important factor to consider: the number of applicants compared to the number of open seats.
For example, if 30.000 people apply for 1.500 seats, itll be harder to get in than if 20.000 people applied for 1.500 seats. This is hard to calculate, but you can make an educated guess by checking each schools acceptance rates.
Apply to schools with the highest acceptance rates, and you will drastically improve your chances of success.
You want a combination of high acceptance rates and low requirements. You can also look for numbers of application and try to get into schools with a low number of applicants, or with a high number of open seats.
But these arent the only things you should consider when applying to school. Since itll take 3 or 4 years to earn your degree, you need to consider if the universitys area appeals to you. Do you want to take part in a living nightlife? Do you prefer quiet areas? What about your passions? Does the location align with your interests?
School is important, but so is your life. If you dont enjoy yourself in your new environment then how do you expect to do well at school?

First, youll have questions that require understanding the overall big picture of a passage. Youll need strategies to find the answer quickly so that you dont get overwhelmed by a giant passage.
Second, youll have questions that focus on specific words or details. Many times, you dont need to read the full passage. Instead, you can use specific strategies for specific question types.
Third, youll have questions that require you to use different sources, charts, and graphs. Memorizing types of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources can help you with these TEAS test Reading questions.
