New Nursing Simulation Lab
Our plan to expand in the future will result in educational partnerships, curriculum consultations, and simulation research. As the center of excellence grows, we envision being a place to provide interprofessional simulation health professions education. This center will be a hub for simulation in nursing education in the Longwood area. The center will provide pedagogical development and expertise to incorporate simulation into curricula and will serve as a gathering place for interprofessional health care planning for simulation.
The new science building will house a state of the art 11,000 square foot, 30 bed simulation center to include 16 skills lab beds, 8 health assessment beds, 5 high fidelity suites, and one home health loft apartment.

The student who has been accepted into the major of nursing must fulfill the all-College requirements. A student accepted into the nursing major must achieve an acceptable level of academic performance, including a minimum grade of C+ in all science course prerequisites, prior to beginning the nursing course sequence, as well as maintain an acceptable level of clinical and academic performance to progress to the next nursing course. Progression is also affected by professional behavior. Those students achieving outstanding academic records may be initiated into Academy and/or the Simmons chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, Theta -at-Large, the International Nursing Honor Society. Criteria regarding academic performance, professional behavior, and health requirements are available upon entrance into the nursing major. Nursing students are required to show documentation of appropriate immunization and health clearance for clinical coursework. Please see the Nursing Student Handbook for specific requirements. All students will undergo a criminal record check each year required for nursing practice in state and private agencies and by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.

There are around sixteen thousand students enrolled each year at Boston College. Most of the students admitted to BC got an SAT score in the range of 1340 to 1500, or got accepted with an ACT composite score within the range of 31 to 34.
