Siena Heights is a catholic university based in Adrian, Mich., which also has campuses in Jackson, Lansing and other major cities.

ADRIAN, MI – Siena Heights University’s Nursing program recently received a 10-year reaccreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The reaccreditation is the most a graduate nursing program can receive, and the university met all standards without issue.

SHU is a catholic university based out of Adrian, Mich., with campuses in Jackson, Lansing and other major cities.

“This is a remarkable accomplishment for Siena Nursing,” SHU President Sister Peg Albert said in a statement. “To receive this level of reaccreditation shows the amount of hard work and dedication involved in completing this process. Sue and her faculty should be congratulated for their efforts.”

SHU was first granted only a five-year accreditation in 2010 and launched an extensive self-study process which lasted more than a year.

“As a chief nurse administrator, I understand the rigor a program must demonstrate to meet the four standards of accreditation from CCNE,” SHU Director of Nursing Sue Idczak said in a statement. “As I wrote the CCNE self-study last year, I saw many examples of the personal and professional excellence of Siena Nursing students, faculty and staff. Knowing the Siena Nursing program met the quality and integrity of the CCNE standards for reaccreditation is personally gratifying, and professionally a high honor.”
