In 1921 the name changed to Regis College, after St. John Francis Regis a 17th century missionary.

In 1991, the Regis College became Regis University. The universitys motto is Men and Women in Service to Others and is written on the schools seal. What Does A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Do

  • Psychiatric nurse practitioners typically provide mental health services including diagnostic evaluations, comprehensive treatment planning, psychotropic medication management, and therapy.
  • The PMHNP treats individuals holistically, taking into account their overall health, medical conditions, and unique life circumstances. The role of a psychiatric nurse practitioner really builds on the nursing discipline and then brings it to the advanced practice level.
  • PMHNPs work across many environments including settings where they provide consultation and training services as well as direct care.
  • Its important that prospective students understand the emphasis on medication management and the nursing aspect since if someone wants to provide only therapy, they would be better suited with another program such as counseling psychology.
  • Total 24

All of the above courses must be completed before entering Primary Care Sequence, with the exception of HP 609.
