Requirements For Graduates Of Foreign Nursing Programs

If you graduated from a foreign nursing program, you must submit an official course-by-course evaluation of your nursing program to a foreign credential evaluation service. The University will accept an unofficial copy of the foreign transcript evaluation submitted at the time of licensure in the U.S. or the equivalent educational verification that was required at the time of licensure in a foreign nation, province, or region. The official foreign credential evaluation must meet the Admissions Requirements for a prior degree.

The evaluation must be completed by an approved agency listed by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at or by another service approved by the University.

Due to the variation in structure of foreign nursing programs, it is not always possible to identify equivalent nursing courses in U.S. certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree programs. If, at the time of enrollment, you meet the following requirements, you may be approved for admission to the Bachelor of Science in NursingRN-to-BSN program:

• You are licensed as a registered nurse in at least one U.S. state or in the U.S. military or provide evidence of a nursing license comparable to a U.S. registered nurse license from a foreign nation, province, or region
• Your transcript evaluation reflects a minimum of 50 quarter credit hours of eligible credit with a focus in nursing

The School of Nursing will admit applicants on a case-by-case basis.

Paying For The Purdue University Global Online Np Programs

The online MSN and Post-Masters Certificates cost $420 per credit plus fees. Travel expenses for the AGACNP on-campus visit are not included, and there may be other fees associated with the nursing degrees. Interested students are encouraged to contact the School of Nursing through Purdue University Global for current tuition costs and fees.

Purdue University Global graduate students may be eligible for unsubsidized federal Stafford Loans and Graduate PLUS loans. The university also has a partner program in which employees of partner organizations may receive tuition reductions and may earn college credit through corporate training programs. In addition, tuition is reduced by 55% for currently serving military members and 38% for veterans. There are also reductions available for military spouses.

Nursing students are encouraged to inquire with their employers as to the option of a tuition reimbursement program. Additionally, students may seek outside opportunities for funding.
