Students may also apply for a multi-state license if their home state is part of the nurse licensure compact. The Nurse Licensure Compact allows a nurse to have a multistate license to practice in their home state and other approved compact states .
All 50 states in the United States use the same licensing exam, the NCLEX-RN and all states have the same standard for passing. The exam is computer adapted and graded a pass/fail. .

- Overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the candidates Bachelor of Science in Nursing , OR overall GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale in the candidates B.S.N. and 24 months of active, independent nursing practice
- For those with a B.S. or B.A. in a field other than nursing, an overall GPA of 3.0 is required and satisfactory completion of NSG 5000B, Transition to Advanced Nursing Practice, prior to beginning the M.S.N. program. NSG 5000B course is only offered in the fall term

Forbes magazine gave Nova Southeastern University a financial grade of C, because education costs are steeper than some other colleges. Tuition rates vary based on the online masters program chosen. Most programs will range from $55 to $895 per credit hour. The National Center for Education Statistics reports that full-time graduate students attending NSU pay an average of $15,882 in tuition annually. Masters learners should expect to pay an additional $650 in fees each academic year, including the internship fee, student services fee, technology fee, and professional seminar fee. Textbooks and living expenses arent included.
For covering these costs, 99 percent of Nova Southeastern students receive some form of need-based financial aid after filing their FAFSA form.
