After the Department of Recruitment and Admissions has received the completed application for admission , the admissions file is submitted to a faculty committee for review. Depending on the time of year and intended semester, the faculty review process may take five to ten business days. However, the process will be longer if the faculty committee requires additional information for review and/or an admissions interview.1

At any time during the application process, please check your status online via the application portal. Notification is sent to the email address on file once a decision is made.

Please be advised that in accordance with state and federal regulations, Nova Southeastern University is required to provide the following information to prospective students considering enrollment in a degree program that leads to professional licensure.

At this time, we cannot confirm that the Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing program meets the educational requirements for professional licensure in other states or territories outside of Florida. Although Florida law indicates that educational requirements are met if the student graduates from an accredited program, students must check with the state in which they are seeking licensure for any additional requirements.

Students may also apply for a multi-state license if their home state is part of the nurse licensure compact. The Nurse Licensure Compact allows a nurse to have a multistate license to practice in their home state and other approved compact states .

All 50 states in the United States use the same licensing exam, the NCLEX-RN and all states have the same standard for passing. The exam is computer adapted and graded a pass/fail. .

Does Nsu Florida Take Florida Prepaid

If you have a Florida Prepaid College Plan, NSU will bill your plan for tuition, fees and costs for on-campus housing based on hours of enrollment. However, the Prepaid College Plans are based on the tuition rates of the tax-assisted Florida public colleges and universities.

Because NSU is a private, not-for-profit institution, you will need to cover the difference between tuition, fees and on-campus housing costs and your Pre-Paid Plan allocations through other sources.

* Due to the requirement to interview potential candidates for the Professional Practice Concentration , applications should be submitted March 1 to allow for adequate processing of file reviews. Getting A License In Florida

Nova Southeastern University 2021

Florida is part of the Enhanced Nursing Licensure Compact , so becoming an RN in Florida means youre also eligible to work as a nurse in 24 other states.

To become an RN, youll need to:

  • Take and pass the NCLEX-RN
  • Pass a criminal background check and submit your fingerprints
  • Apply to become a nurse via the Florida Board of Nursing

If you complete a BSN from an accredited Florida university, you should be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN. After that, youll just need to submit some extra information and pass a background test. Then youre set to begin your nursing career!

Accelerated Bachelor Of Science In Nursing

Are you ready to make the switch and dive into a nursing career that allows you to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care? If you already have a bachelors degree, then Nova Southeastern Universitys accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed for you. Graduate with a B.S.N. in just four semesters.

These courses must be taken before you can begin the A.B.S.N. coursework.

  • Nutrition: Three semester hours
  • Human Growth and Development: Three semester hours
  • Advanced natural/physical sciences: Eight semester hours
  • Anatomy and physiology, at least 8 semester hours with lab
  • 6 semester hours of combined anatomy and physiology with 3 semester hours of biology may be substituted

Nursing Students Must Submit The Nursingcas Application

The Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing participates in the centralized applications service called NursingCAS.

NursingCAS allows applicants to use a single online application and one set of materials to apply to multiple programs at participating schools. It is used for document verification but does not take part in the student selection.

Baptist Health South Florida Nova Southeastern University School of Nursing

Students accepted to the entry-level Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the Miami campus of Nova Southeastern University may apply for the Baptist Health Nurse Scholars Program. Over a period of seven semesters, participants of this joint program will participate in didactic and clinical experiences within Baptist Health facilities as both students and as Scholar Nurse Partners. Scholar Nurse Partners is a per-diem employment opportunity for students to shadow an experienced nurse on a preassigned unit.

Students accepted into the Baptist Health Nurse Scholars Programs are provided a scholarship towards school tuition. This amount is paid directly to the university, and students are responsible for the balance of their tuition along with additional fees as determined by the school.

Approximately 40 participants will be accepted during each of the fall and spring semesters.

At the completion of the program, eligible graduates may be offered employment at Baptist Health with a work commitment of four years.

NSU-KPCOM participates in the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service for the receipt and processing of all applications. Applicants must submit applications and all supporting documents electronically through AACOMAS online no later than January 15. Materials include:

  • A completed AACOMAS
  • An official transcript from all colleges and universities attended
  • MCAT scores
  • A letter of recommendation from a physician and from the applicants pre-professional committee or if such a committee does not exist, three letters of evaluation are necessary.

    Sat Subject Test Requirements

    Schools vary in their SAT subject test requirements. Typically, selective schools tend to require them, while most schools in the country do not.

    We did not find information that Nova Southeastern University requires SAT subject tests, and so most likely it does not. At least 6 months before applying, you should still doublecheck just to make sure, so you have enough time to take the test.
