School Of Nursing Named A Finalist For 2020 Health Care Heroes Award In Innovation
10/16/20 – UNCWs School of Nursing is a finalist for a Health Care Heroes Award in the category of Innovation in Health Care. The awards, presented by the Greater Wilmington Business Journal, honor people and organizations that enhance the quality of health care in the Cape Fear region.
Two students, Evonne Meyreles 21 and Alex Payton 22 , have been selected as the UNCW student scholars as part of the Health Care Heroes Awards. They will receive $500 scholarships sponsored by Delta Dental.
To Attend The Program Students Pay Approximately $840 Per Credit Hour Plus Additional Fees

In 2017, the state of Illinois passed a law that expanded the professional capacity of nurse practitioners in the state as outlined in the state’s Nurse Practitioner Act.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses are now allowed to practice without needing to enter into a written collaborative agreement with a doctor.

General Graduate Nursing Admissions Requirements: Students must hold a current, unencumbered RN license in the state of Illinois and a BSN degree from an accredited program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Application materials include an application, application fee, official transcripts, a professional goal statement, and three professional letters of recommendation. No GMAT or GRE is required, nor will it be considered for admission. An interview may be required.
State Restrictions: Northern Illinois University is an NC-SARA participant and accepts students from all states into their online programs. However, importantly, FNP program graduates only meet eligibility requirements for FNP licensure in Illinois and Wisconsin.
