We chose Monmouth Crossing Assisted Living because my mom is in assisted living and they also have nursing care in a different building across the street. Since they offer all levels of care, we could keep her within the same company if she ever needs more care. The room sizes here are adequate for her needs, bigger than some other places we saw. The food looked a lot better before covid, but I think with covid going on they have had to do things differently. The best part about the community has been the smaller group setting, so better 1 on 1 care. I would recommend…. Read more

Monmouth Crossing Staffs Quick Action Personal Care Saves A Life

2 New Jersey Residents In Their 90s Find Love After Quarantining Together

In April, when the staff at Monmouth Crossing Assisted Living, Freehold, NJ, noticed that one of their longtime residents, then 93-year-old Madeline Tagliavia, didnt seem quite like her usual self, they jumped into action.

The nurses at Monmouth Crossing called us right away to let us know that my mother was suffering from a low-grade fever and a headache, said Mary Vitale, Madelines daughter, who was out of state at the time.

Monmouth Crossings longtime staff and continuity of care from the nurses to the housekeepers, the dining assistants to administrators means that they can often spot issues with their residents even before the residents themselves.

Following the doctors instructions, the staff continued to monitor her temperature and, when Madeline developed a cough as well, they brought her to the hospital where she tested positive for COVID-19.

They caught it early because they really know her, said Jon Vitale, Madelines son-in-law. Because of that, doctors were able to get ahead of virus with a combination of medications and she was released after just three days.

Madeline was then admitted to The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, CentraStates short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing facility located just across the street from Monmouth Crossing, to finish her recovery.

After just over a week at The Manor, Madeline was able to return to her Monmouth Crossing home. She couldnt wait to get back! Mary said.

We were able to have an in person tour with Monmouth and even though we don’t not much about this community it was still a really nice tour. We decided to go with another community though because they offered a better price.

Our family was able to have an in person tour and it was very nice. We checked out the memory care unit and it almost seemed more like cottages. It was smaller so offered more care and attentive, the rooms were set up in a central location right by the dining area and living area. They also have an enclosed outside area, but we did not choose this community because they require 2 years of private pay.

Since they offer all levels of care, we could keep her within the same company if she ever needs more care. The room sizes here are adequate for her needs, bigger than some other places we saw.
