This RN to BSN program is offered in a Blended Format In addition a convenient virtual-online format option is available for all courses except the Community Nursing and The Leadership Practicums for both program options.

The following tracks are options for beginning and progressing through the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. These options are designed to accommodate various student needs. They are not different degree programs.

Pre-select Track

The seamless transition track is designed for students who are graduating from the MDC Associate of Science in Nursing degree program and have made application to the RN-BSN program and are scheduled to take their NCLEX RN examination within the semester of acceptance to the RN-BSN program. Students may only register for NUR 3069 and NUR 3805 during the first semester.

Once students have successfully completed the NCLEX RN and present a copy of a Florida RN license to the New Student Center or the RN-BSN Chairperson they will be recoded into the RN-BSN program.

Students who have not successfully completed the NCLEX RN by the end of the first semester will not be permitted to progress in the BSN program.

Full-time Track

This track is designed for students who desire to complete the program in three semesters. This track is recommended for those who are not working or are only working part-time.

Classes Not Applicable Toward Sonhs Degrees

The following courses do not count toward the 120 credits required of the BSN degree: DAN 101-104, ENG 103, and MTH 099. Based on their ENG or MTH placement scores, students may need to complete ENG 103 or MTH 099 before enrolling in higher-level requirements. Even though the courses listed above cannot count toward graduation, they can count toward the 12 credits required to be considered a full-time student.

Bachelor Of Science In Nursing

Pursue Your Baccalaureate Education

MDC offers a seamless transition whether you’re already a student here, or joining us from another institution. Here are the courses you’ll need to prepare for the baccalaureate degree program.

  • Applicants must have an active unencumbered Florida registered nurse license from an accredited nursing program or be license eligible after recent graduation from an accredited ASN program.
  • Meet with an Advisor at the Medical Campus to discuss any co-requisites which you can advance.
  • Apply to the Benjamín León School of Nursing BSN program:
    • A seamless transition program option is available for students who are license eligible after recent graduation from an accredited ASN program.
    • Program consists of 30 credits .

Miami Dade College Nursing Program Review

Miami Dade College opened in 1960 as Dade County Junior College. Since 2003, the college has been offering bachelors degrees and serves over 140,000 students. The college has 8 campuses. Miami Dade College Undergraduate Nursing Programs

Associate Degree in Nursing Program

The ADN program can be completed on an accelerated basis, as a bridge option or generic option. All programs except the accelerated option are offered part and full time.

The ADN program is offered full or part time. Admission requirements include course pre-requisites with a grade of C or better, TEAS test , and an overall GPA of 2.5. Students are evaluated based upon their TEAS exam scores and GPA in natural science courses. Students should also be careful of withdrawing from courses as this can impact your admission prospects negatively.
