Is There An Entrance Exam
Yes, we require all applicants to take the TEAS Exam.
We do not require a minimum score there is no limit on the number of times you retake the exam and there is no required waiting period between retakes. Only your highest score will be considered by the review committee.
HESI scores will not be considered as a substitute for the TEAS.
SAT/ACT scores are not required.
In cases where the exam is not offered in one’s home country, you may request an exemption from this requirement.
What Is The Ratio Of Students To Teachers
This depends on the course. Students of the same cohort will attend lecture courses taught by two faculty members, making lectures a 25:1 ratio. Students tend to have two courses a semester at this ratio. In lab courses, the ratio is as small as 10:1 thanks to a dedicated lab staff and teaching assistants. For clinicals, the student to preceptor ratio is 8:1.

About The Baccalaureate Program
The JSU School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Students begin the nursing program by taking academic, core requirement courses a separate application is filed to request admission* into the clinical portion of nursing. Students are admitted* to the upper division of nursing in the spring and fall of each year. Those seeking admission* to nursing must contact the Senior Lead Advisor at the College of Health Professions and Wellness at least three months prior to date of entry to establish records for acceptance* and complete the application process.
Application deadlines for upper division:June 1 for Fall Semester October 1 for Spring Semester
Late applications are not accepted.

When Will I Know If I’m Brought Up From The Waitlist
Students may be brought up from the waitlist up to one day before the program begins. If accepted, you must still have your pre-requisite courses complete by the beginning of the program. Extensions are not granted.
If you are not pulled up from the waitlist by the start of the program and are still interested in joining us in the future, you must reapply.
