Are you ready to earn your online nursing degree?
Holistic nurses, also known as integrative nurses, deliver care to the whole patient by addressing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual issues, along with symptoms of specific illnesses or medical conditions. Just like other nurses, they must secure a registered nurse or advanced nursing practice license to treat patients.
To practice as a holistic nurse, each candidate must receive certification from the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation , which requires taking and passing an exam. Nurses reapply for recertification every five years by submitting proof they have completed at least 100 hours of continuing education.
Holistic nurses commonly serve in the roles of RN or nurse practitioner. Obtaining a license requires, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree. Many professionals seek master’s or doctoral degrees from integrative health nurse practitioner programs across the country.
Most integrative nurses join the American Holistic Nurses Association, which provides advocacy, education, research, and networking opportunities for professionals in the field.

An Integrative Medicine Nurse Practitionerand Owner Of Flourish
Im known as a maverick healer, wellness innovator, and fierce advocate for my patients. Im dedicated to inspiring and empowering my patients to feel, look, move, work, and create a fulfilling life, as their best selves.
I started using herbal remedies back in the early 1990s to cure my own chronic sinus issues, which conventional medicine was not effective in healing.
Through my studies of herbs, I also learned about how the foods we eat impact the way we feel. I changed my diet and my lifestyle, and I havent struggled with sinus infections since.
Through my undergraduate studies in Anthropology, I discovered the interplay between culture and behavior and how our upbringing and cultural experiences affect our health and life behaviors.
In 2007, I became a Registered Nurse. I spent the early part of my nursing career caring for some of the sickest people in my local hospital system, and then spent four years working in a free clinic, caring for individuals living below the poverty level.
Those experiences provided a real understanding about the gaps and shortcomings of the conventional medicine system in helping people heal not just treat symptoms.
I knew I wanted to help in a bigger way, so continued on with my training and education.
I received my Masters degree in Nursing and became nationally board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in 2012
I hold a vision for a place where patients are activated, inspired and empowered.
The FLOURISH Family.

LEIGH FRAME: So why should you choose this program? I think Justins already highlighted a few benefits of the online format. This being asynchronous means that you can do it when you have time. So if youre in clinic all day, when you get home, thats when you can take your coursework, or if you want to do it first thing in the morning, or during your lunch break, or while youre commuting. The freedom is there, and it allows you to put it into your very busy schedule with your family commitments and your full time workload. So we understand that.
And so we have semester system here. So weve got a spring semester right now and then a fall semester coming up. And theyre each cut up into A and B sessions. Thats the eight week structure. You have an eight week A session and an eight week B session. And its either a spring or a fall semester.
