Sgsc School Of Nursing
The SGSC School of Nursing currently offers three tracks leading to a professional career in nursing and a new bachelor’s degree program in Long-term Healthcare Management, a non-nursing degree.
Our LPN-RN Bridge program and ASN program prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. The SGSC School of Nursing offers all ASN courses on the Douglas and Waycross campuses. The LPN-RN Bridge Course is offered at Douglas or Waycross on a rotational basis. Successful completion entitles one to practice nursing and use the title, Registered Nurse . We also offer a hybrid RN-BSN program for students who are licensed as a Registered Nurse.
Our newest Bachelor’s Degree program in Long-Term Healthcare Management will develop educational skills and knowledge for managers of long-term healthcare provided in patient residences and long-term care facilities.
Nursing Program Admission Requirements And Procedures
The Nursing Program at GGC requires eligible students to have completed areas A-F from the Nursing Program of Studyprior to the first semester of being enrolled in the first nursing courses. Note: Only transfer students may take ITEC 1001, Introduction to Computing after enrollment in the nursing program prior to graduation. A student applying to the Nursing program for fall semester may not be enrolled in any area F or science courses during the preceding summer semester. Completion of all core courses in spring semester is highly recommended for fall applicants.
- Students who have been previously enrolled in a nursing program may apply to the GGC nursing program if they have received only one D or F in a nursing course. Additional information will be requested by the School of Health Sciences Admission Committee upon application.

Georgia Southwestern State University Georgia Southwestern State University features a four-year, 122 credit undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing . Sixty credits are focused on core college requirements in science, history, math, and English while 62 credits are dedicated to the nursing major. Family Nurse Practitioner Concentration Msn
Georgia College School of Nursing offers a number of options for BSN prepared nurses who are seeking to further their career. Our programs are offered in a fully online format with minimal face to face on campus requirements during the program. Students completing the MSN degree have opportunities encompassing management, administration, teaching, and advanced practice clinical positions throughout Georgia and the nation.
Our Master of Science in Nursing degree offers concentrations in Family Nurse Practitioner , Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner , Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner , Nurse Educator , and Nurse Midwifery. Post-Master’s certificates in these concentrations are also offered for MSN prepared nurses seeking certification.
All clinical rotations must be completed in Georgia with a preceptor that is approved by the School of Nursing . Students are assisted by the SON in securing their preceptors and arranging their clinical schedule.
