Emergency Medicine Boot Camp
The Center for Medical Education offers the Emergency Medicine Boot Camp bi-annually to emergency nurse practitioners. It was designed by nationally recognized emergency medicine faculty offer the essential, hands-on training needed to practice in a modern-day emergency department or urgent care center.
The book camp lasts three a half days, covered 45 different topics, and awards 26 continuing education hours. These live, in-person classes are taught by nurse practitioners and physicians. Ce Hours Approved Providers & Accredited Programs

To Recertify with Continuing Education credits:
- AANPCB-certified NPs need to provide evidence of completing 100 contact hours of CE relevant to the area of certification.
- CE submitted is expected to meet the requirements to ensure the continued competence of NPs.
- A minimum of 25 contact hours of the 100 total CE must be in advanced practice pharmacology.
- All CEs must be completed within the current 5-year period of certification.
CE activities must be approved by an accredited provider of nursing or medical education. CE certificates submitted for renewal of certification must be legible and include the certificants name, names of CE activity, program sponsor, CE accreditor, date of completion, number of “non-pharmacology” and pharmacology contact hours awarded.

A nurse may choose to demonstrate compliance with the continuing competency requirements by completing 20 contact hours of Continuing Nursing Education in his or her area of practice within the licensing period .
Local colleges, universities, nursing schools, or large hospitals may have a schedule of CNE offerings or a mailing list. Many nursing journals and professional nursing associations also contain a list of offerings. And, many CNE offerings may be located on the internet. Any course/ offering/ activity/ program that offers Continuing Nursing Education contact hours and is in the nurses area of practice can be used for licensure renewal so long as it is approved by a credentialing agency or provider recognized by the Board.
