1. Course of Study: Qualifying Year The Qualifying Year is an intensive 10-month bridging period that introduces students to nursing and prepares them for entry to graduate-level nursing studies. The Master of Science Nursing is a two-year, 58-credit program that directly follows the Qualifying Year. By the end of MSc-DE Year 1, students are eligible to practice as nursing externs during the summer break, in accordance with the regulations of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec – the Quebec Order of Nurses. Upon successful completion of MSc DE Year 2, graduates are eligible to write the OIIQ licensing exam.
