The South Florida State Nursing Program provides a one year program for LPNs to become an Associated Degree Nurse. These nurses then have the option to take the licensing exam which will elevate nurses to RN status. In order to be accepted into this program, students need to have completed a series of courses with prior education, and all nursing related courses must receive a C or higher in order to be applied towards the degree. The state of Florida then decides if the nursing candidate has shown sufficient improvement and understanding of criteria before awarding RN status.
