How does the Nurse Educator practicum benefit you?
While in the program, you will have an opportunity to practice what you have learned while completing 144 hours of practicum experience under the guidance of faculty and an experienced nurse educator.
96 of those hours will be devoted to an educational practicum project which will consist of developing, planning, implementing and evaluating an actual teaching experience. 48 of 144 hours will be completed in a clinical setting with a focus on client outcomes in a clinical practice setting.
MSN Nurse Educator Track Admission Requirements
For your MSN Nurse Educator Track nursing application, you should have:
- A degree in nursing at the bachelors level or higher from an accredited institution
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Current, active and unrestricted RN license in the U.S. or in a jurisdiction that is an associate member of the NCSBN
Can I transfer credits into the MSN program Nurse Educator Track?
General guidelines for transfer credits include:
- A maximum of six semester hours may be accepted towards your MSN degree
- Core coursework must have been completed within the past 7 years for transfer specialty coursework with the past 5 years
- A grade of B or higher is required for transfer credits
- For the NP specialty tracks, transfer credits will only be accepted for core courses

- Current, active, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in the students state of residence. A registered nurse with a Nurse Licensure Compact license must reside in a state that is included in the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Rn To Bsn Admission Faq
We value your experience at Chamberlain – youll earn a minimum of 77 credits for your education and clinical experience as a registered nurse towards your RN to BSN.
Yes – youll have your transcript assessed for transfer credits that can cut down on general education courses. The median RN BSN online student entering in the 2020/21 school year, started with 89 credit hours through proficiency and transfer credit. Learn more in our RN to BSN Transfer Guide.
Within the RN to BSN online program, you should expect to spend 8-10 hours per course, per week. Everyone learns differently – some may be able to complete the work in less time, others may require more.
Every course listed as part of the RN to BSN online option is offered each session, except for NR-435, ECON-312N, HIST-420N*. Sessions start every eight weeks. NR-435 is only offered in the March and September sessions. ECON-312N and HIST-420N are only offered in the March, July and November sessions.

A specialty track is a concentration. You must select one of seven specialty tracks in the MSN degree program . When you graduate, you will earn a Master of Science in Nursing degree with the specialty of your choice. Specialty track availability varies by state. See which tracks are available in your state.
It is possible to change MSN nursing specialty tracks within all non-nurse practitioner tracks . If you wish to change tracks, we recommend that you do so while you are in your core courses because credits completed in the original specialty track will not transfer to a different specialty track. Switching into the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty track is subject to Dean approval and availability.
Students who enroll in the Accelerated MSN Options will not be eligible to transfer to the traditional online MSN program.
