The aids and the nurses are great. They are patient with me and allow me to be myself. One of the best things about this place is their transportation system. Bob is amazing. He listens to you and makes you feel like youve been friends for years. The aid Yvonne is excellent and takes her time. Shes funny and seems to always be happy and ready to help. The food is not the best, but the nursing and administrative team are great. Shuntay will literally take time out of her day to make sure that we are happy. Shes even ran to Kroger for me and Cricket has ran to Cricket for me to pay my bill because I cannot get there on my own. I highly recommend this place. Rogers Larry

Violinist Plays Outside Louisville Nursing Home To Lift Residents’ Spirits
- Katrina Helmer
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Residents of the Altenheim Senior Health Care Community had a special guest Wednesday afternoon, even though nursing homes are closed to outside visitors.
Matthew Lane teaches violin and owns the local shop Lane & Edwards Violins. Instead of spending the day cooped up inside, he set up his stand with stacks of sheet music in front of the Altenheim and played music for the residents.
Someone can open a window and listen to us play a song. And that connection is important, especially for people who cant leave and cant get out, Lane said.
Gov. Andy Beshear ordered all nursing homes to limit visitors, because those over the age of 60 are at high risk of getting the coronavirus. Lane said that doesnt have to prevent others from still keeping seniors company.
People feel isolated, Lane said. Especially vulnerable categories of people like residents of nursing homes. Music is one way to connect without being right next to someone. And this is one of the ways that we as musicians, who have to practice our instruments anyways, can do that.
Lane played everything from classical music to The Beatles and The Sound of Music. He moved around to each side of the building so that everyone could enjoy the music from the comfort of their rooms.
He hopes to go back again and play music with a quartet.

I really appreciate all what they did for me, every one was nice and made me feel like they cared about me and my well being, they always encouraged me during therapy, and they made sure all my needs are met. Being able to do my dialysis in house was a big help too, to speed up my recovery. Thank you signature family. Robert Culton
